Building a strong culture is the fastest path to growing company worth - and a reward to you at time of company sale
Ask yourself this question – is my organization, my team, enabling the progress I want to make with my company or are parts of my team holding us back?
To grow the worth of your company, you obviously want and need all parts of your organization being an enabler. For many, this isn’t the case. So what’s the primary reason?
It’s inconsistent performance accountability being held around your organization.
Sure, there could be other reasons why a culture isn’t optimal, but if they are all ranked, this one will be at the top of the list.
Ask yourself – do each of our managers hold employees to the same standard of performance?
If you have one manager that holds their team accountable for being at work on time, delivering actions on time, attending meetings on time and prepared for those meetings but have another manager that does not hold their people to this same standard, you have an opportunity to improve a meaningful cultural issue. The employees who are being held to a high standard get frustrated seeing their peers in other departments that are not and this then fosters a We versus They culture.
This is a great discussion to have with your leadership team. Discuss – as leaders of this company, are we equally holding our teams to the same performance standards?
Building a stronger organization culture can be the fastest path to growing the worth of your company. Use time as a friend to leverage this enabler.
